FAQ
What is the difference between Malibu C DDL Direct Dye Lifter and CPR?
CPR is formulated to
remove oxidative hair colour
and will not affect natural pigment. DDL is formulated to
remove direct dyes and when mixed with developer, it will affect the natural pigment of the hair.
CPR is designed to reduce the amount of pigment while DDL is designed to lift/remove all the pigment non oxidative direct dye from the hair.

How do I know when to use DDL Direct Dye Lifter, and when to use CPR Colour Pigment Remover?
If your colour was mixed with a developer, then CPR Colour Pigment Remover is your tool. If it was a straight colour that wasn’t mixed and had to be used on pre-lightened hair, then DDL Direct Dye Lifter is the tool you would use.

Will CPR Colour Pigment Remover remove Box Colour?
Yes. For permanent and demi-permanent oxidative colour, CPR may remove 1-3 levels.

Can CPR Colour Pigment Remover cause damage to hair?
No, CPR is formulated with a wellness vitamin technology and cannot damage hair.

Will CPR Colour Pigment Remover change the natural hair colour?
No, CPR does not and cannot change natural hair colour.

Do I mix CPR with developer?
No, CPR is mixed with 4 ounces of tepid/room temperature water.

Can you mix developer with CPR to make it stronger?
No, the CPR Colour Pigment Remover would shut the developer down. CPR is to be mixed with water only.

Is CPR applied to wet or dry hair?
CPR is applied to towel-dried, damp hair following shampooing with Malibu C Un-Do-Goo Shampoo to raise the pH and cuticle, enhancing the effectiveness of CPR.

Is CPR always processed under heat?
Yes, since CPR is non-oxidative, it requires heat to open the cuticle and penetrate the hair shaft.

Does leaving CPR on longer than 15 minutes give you better results?
Yes, up to 45 minutes under heat. Follow the procedure with Malibu C Un-Do-Goo Shampoo.

Will CPR remove minerals and metallics?
Yes, CPR will remove the buildup of minerals and metallics.

After CPR has been processed do I need to formulate the next colour differently?
There is no need to formulate the colour differently. Formulate to the colour manufacturer’s instructions.

Will CPR lift regular, oxidative colour as well as direct dye colour?
CPR will reduce the amount of pigment for both oxidative and non-oxidative colour. It will remove more levels on oxidative colour.
How to use:

1. Fill applicator bottle with warm water and add the crystals from the sachet.

2. Put lid on bottle and shake until all crystals have dissolved into the water.

3. Hair must be clean before treatment. Shampoo your hair well, preferably with a clarifying shampoo such as the Malibu C Un-Doo-Goo Shampoo to remove any styling product.

4. Section your hair and apply the CPR solution and rubbing the formula into the hair in-between your hands, avoiding the scalp. The formula will not lather.

5. Scrunch CPR formula between thumb and forefinger from root to tip.

6. Gently use hairdryer or another consistent, radiant heat source on the treated area for 15-45 minutes depending on the intensity and depth of colour.

7. Remove the heat and shampoo again three times, careful not to over-stimulate the scalp. This will raise the hair’s pH level and open the hair cuticle so the reduced pigment can wash out. Malibu C Un-Doo-Goo Shampoo is recommended. Each shampoo will release more pigment but has no chance or re-oxidising on the hair.

8. You are ready to complete another colour service or, if no more colour is wanted, apply a deep moisturising conditioner to finish the treatment.

If you use water,
you need Malibu C!

The Problem Starts With Your Water

Minerals found in water are continuously exposed to the hair during bathing. Hot or warm water will open the cuticle, allowing minerals to get inside.

What’s hiding in your shower water is the culprit of many common and severe issues for the hair, scalp and skin. Over 85% of the population is shampooing in hard water, which has an abundance of calcium and magnesium, and nearly 100% of households have water with harsh chemicals and other minerals, even homes with water softeners.

Color fading, poor gray coverage, brassy blondes, muddy or ashy hues, lack of movement and bounce, dryness, and dullness may all be results of mineral buildup.

Malibu C Wellness Remedies have the ability to rectify all of these issues, and more!

What They Do

Malibu C offers a customized regimen for every hair type because everyone showering in water needs to use Malibu C. What most people don’t realize is what is hiding in your shower water is often the culprit of many common and severe issues for the hair, scalp and skin. Over 85% of the population uses shampoo with hard water, which is packed with minerals and harsh chemicals that wreak major havoc on the hair, scalp and skin and can even serve as a trigger for many conditions.

Hard water mineral build-up on the hair can be a trigger for issues such as hair color fading, poor grey coverage, brassy blondes, muddy or ashy hues, hair that lacks movement or body/bounce, lackluster locks, highlights that seem to “disappear” just a couple weeks after leaving the salon, just to name a few. Luckily the Malibu C Wellness Hair Care Remedies have the ability to rectify all of the issues, and more!
